While addressing the press on Wednesday afternoon, Oguna confirmed that the area which had initially been identified as the probable resting place for the wreckage proved wrong after it was found the vehicle was not in the area.Image result for Divers at Likoni channel

He added that the locating robots had identified nine other areas in the sea which the divers were going to concentrate on once they commence their operations at 3pm.

Oguna cited poor visibility due to dark waters in the sea bed making it hard for the divers to locate the wreckage. He revealed this had forced the divers to rely on their hands to touch and feel their ways inside the seabed.

According to him, Robots in use had only the capability of giving the probable direction but not sensing the vehicle.

Strong currents under the sea bed and a lot of pressure building up was also given as one of the challenges faced by the divers.
