For the longest time, women have been made to feel guilty or shameful in everyday situations.

From being too assertive to being too nice, society has a way of making them feel like everything they do is wrong.

It’s high time for women to start doing with those undeserved feelings of guilt and take back their right to be exactly whom they want.

Here are just a few of the things women should absolutely stop feeling ashamed about.

Being Assertive

Women often feel as if they can’t be assertive in the workplace or even at home, at the risk of being called rude or aggressive.

Everyone deserves to have their voice heard and sometimes that means saying what you think and not apologizing for it.

Having male friends

There is nothing wrong with having friends of the opposite sex.

People of the opposite gender can be friends without sex or any string attached.

You owe no one an apology by watching what makes you happy, there is nothing shameful about embracing the entertainment that bring joy.
Saying No

You don’t owe anyone anything. If someone is trying to use your guilt of saying no to make you do something that isn’t a positive don’t give in.

It isn’t selfish to say no, in fact, it can often be a form of self-care.

Asking for More

Sometimes, we take on a lot in our relationships and career. When this happens, we need to be guilt-free about asking for more. Demand the time, dedication, or money that you need to get things done.

Treating Yourself

There is this notion that Kenyan women can’t treat herself unless a man is behind it. There is nothing wrong with treating yourself, regardless of the reason.
