Ingwe are carrying a 4-0 win over Chemelil Sugar and assistant head coach Anthony ‘Modo’ Kimani is optimistic that his side will beat Sony Sugar to collect the crucial three points in a bid to better their Kenyan Premier League standings.

“Sony Sugar has been another tough hunting zone for us but we’re looking forward to performing better against them this season. The boys are psyched up. They know we need a positive result and am pretty sure they are going to do well against Sony,” Modo said.

He says they cannot afford to lose any more points with a focus on an honourable 2019/20 season finish. So far, from four matches, the Leopards have won twice, lost once and drawn once.

They’re placed second with seven points, one less than those of leaders Mathare United. “We have already lost five points so far (from a draw against Kariobangi Sharks and a loss to Kakamega Homeboyz). We cannot afford any more slipups; those (points against Sony Sugar) are very important three points for us,” he added.

Sony Sugar, on the other hand, have only recorded one win from four matches played. They lost to KCB, Bandari and recently against Ulinzi Stars. They had only beaten Nzoia Sugar on the second match-day of the season.

With two matches at hand, their Mashemeji, Gor Mahia are eighth with six points and are behind Tusker, Bandari, KCB, Ulinzi Stars and Kakamega Homeboyz in that order.
