Police Gun Down 4 Suspects in Nairobi

Four suspected robbers were Sunday morning shot dead by police officers responding to a distress call at White Castle area, along Juja Road.

According to police reports, the robbers, who were part of a gang of six, accosted two men driving into their compound, armed with pistols. The robbers allegedly stole Mohammed Noor and Hassan Mohamed’s valuables, injuring one Mr Hassan on the head.

Police officers recovered two homemade pistols, two rounds of 9mm ammunition, and four knives from the suspects.

Their bodies were moved to City Mortuary awaiting post-mortem and identification.

Elsewhere, police in Dandora are investigating the alleged murder of a 25-year-old man within his house.

Shallon Mbogi’s body was discovered Sunday afternoon by neighbours who noticed a foul smell coming from his house.

Upon breaking into the house, the neighbours found the victim lying on a mattress face down.

According to the police, Mbogi was strangled with a piece of clothing material on the neck.

Police are now hunting down his wife, Melvyn Nalwa, who is a key suspect in the murder.

In Mathare, a 26-year-old man’s body was found dumped by the roadside near Mathare Shopping Centre Sunday morning.

The police say that the victim had visible injuries on the mouth and stomach. His body was moved to the City Mortuary awaiting identification.

Investigations into the alleged murder have also been launched.
