A woman has come out to forgive her husband who stabbed her severally after a domestic quarrel turned tragic.

The woman, Peninah Wangechi was admitted in critical condition at the Karatina Sub-County Hospital after his husband Samuel Ndirangu stabbed and left her for dead in April 12.

At the time, Wangechi told reporters that her marriage had been a bed of thorns, made worse by the constant physical abuse Ndirangu was constantly meting on her.

Her decision on Monday, 30th of September to forgive Ndirangu has come as a surprise, with a section of Kenyans calling on her to call it quits.

“I am baffled. Forgiving yes, but back together? Nooo. She need counselling ASAP. So that she can make informed choices. Please don’t move back with him. He will kill you,” tweeted Nyangai Wasilwa.

At the time of her hospital admission, Karatina Sub-county Hospital doctor Dr Benson Ngari said Wangechi had lost a lot of blood from the incident.

He, however, noted that the injuries inflicted were not life-threatening.

This happened at a time when a Moi University student had just been killed by her estranged lover in what is suspected to be a love-gone-sour ordeal.

Ivy Wangechi was murdered with an axe and a knife before irate residents descended on her suspected killer Naftali Kinuthia with stones. He was, however, rescued and taken to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
