Shock as Class 4 Girl Commits Suicide in Bondo

There was shock when the body of an eleven-year-old girl was found hanging from a tree behind her parents’ house near Usenge police station in Usenge town last evening after she is suspected to have committed suicide.

According to the Chief of West Yimbo location Mr. Paul Olang’, the body of the girl identified as Akinyi and who is a standard Four pupil at Usenge primary was discovered after her mother found a suicide note that she had left behind.

In the suicide note addressed to her younger sister, the deceased had allegedly indicated that she was going to commit suicide but never indicated any reason for which she wanted to take away her life.

Mr. Olang’ told KNA that after getting the note at around 7.00 pm, Akinyi’s mother began searching for her only to come across the body which was dangling on a tree behind their rental house.

The administrator who confirmed the incident stated that she then raised the alarm before they informed the police who came and picked the body to Bondo Sub County hospital mortuary.

He stated however that investigations have already begun to establish what could have led her to committing such a heinous act.

There has been a rise in teenage suicide experienced in different parts of the Country.

In Molo, a 14-year-old girl committed suicide a week ago after a quarrel with her mother.

I the same region, another girl of 13 years committed suicide after being beaten by her parents for failing to spend the night at their home.

One other news of teenage suicide that raised alarms and uproars after a standard 6 girl committed suicide over an alleged period shaming by her teacher.
