Harambee Stars head coach Francis Kimazi has dropped Patrick Matasi from the final squad that will take on Mozambique in an international friendly match in October.
The friendly is scheduled for October 13, with the team expected to hit camp on October 7.
The 23-man star-studded squad includes a host of foreign-based players like Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama and Kashiwa Resol ace Michael Olunga.
Jesse Were who seemed to have fallen out with former coach Sebastian Migne will be keen to don the national colours after missing out on the Uganda match after suffering a knock in training.
Ian Otieno makes a comeback to the stars squad after a year in the cold. He was dropped from the side on disciplinary grounds by coach Sebastien Migne Migne, but the former Posta Ranger and AFC Leopard’s shot-stopper who has also turned out for the U23 side will be looking to make amends under Kimanzi.
Former Gor Mahia skipper Harun Shakava who plies his trade with Zambian side Nkana, Anthony Akumu and Algeria based Masud Juma have also earned a call-up.
Sensational forward Ayub Timbe will miss the clash at the request of his club Beijing Renhe who have cited an important fixture in their calendar.
