A teacher from Kapkenyeloi High School in Nandi North county is nursing injuries after a student from the school attacked, leaving him with severe head and face injuries.
The teacher was attending a disciplinary case involving the boy at the principal’s office when the learner grabbed a soda bottle from a crate, smashed it, and used it on the teacher leaving him with serious mouth, face and hand injuries.
The seriously bleeding teacher was rushed to a nearby dispensary for first aid before being transferred to Kapsabet county referral hospital for further treatment.
It is not yet clear what provoked the student to take such an action but police have commenced investigations into the same.
This is not the first time a student is said to have attacked their teachers.
In 2018, six teachers at Chalbi Boys High School in Marsabit were left with serious injuries after being attacked by students while preparing for morning classes.
The teachers ran out of the school following the attack but the students still pursued them.
