AFC Leopards made it two wins on the bounce with a 4-0 over bottom-placed Chemelil Sugar at the Mumias Complex in Kakamega County. Cassa Mbungo’s side came in the match on the back of a morale-boosting 1-0 over Wazito FC on matchday 3.

Against a Chemelil side lacking in confidence and quality, AFC Leopards came off the blocks flying and pinned their opponents into their own half. Soter Kayumba finished off a brilliant move after just 19 minutes of play to open the scoring.

It was two just 15 minutes later when Mark Makwatta drove a fierce shot into the bottom left corner for Leopards second of the match and his second of the season too. Chemelil were helpless and lucky to go into the break trailing by only two goals.

The second half was more of the same with Chemelil sitting back in what seemed like damage control while Leopards followed with attack after attack. Tresor Ndikumana nodded home the third from a corner in the 56th minute.

The scoring was completed in the 63r minute when Makwatta got the fourth and his 3rd of the season. There was a slight blow for Leopards who lost Hansel Ochieng to a knee injury late on and could be out for some time.

The result means that Cassa Mbungo’s side is now second on the log with 7 points, one behind leaders Western Stima while Chemelil remains rooted at the bottom with no points from their first 4 matches.

Next up for Leopards is a clash against Sony Sugar while Chemelil host Kariobangi Sharks.
