AFC Leopards Looking For Second Successive Win Against Winless Chemelil

A Mark Makwatta penalty was enough to hand AFC Leopards their first win of the season against Wazito FC. The win eased pressure on Leopards who had started the season with a loss to Kakamega Homeboyz and a barren draw with Kariobangi Sharks.

Cassa Mbungo’s side is finally clicking and living up to their potential and there could not have been a better time to do so. Their next run of fixtures involves matches against bottom-placed Chemelil, struggling Sony Sugar before it gets tough with dates against Western Stima, Sofapaka, and Ulinzi Stars.

Chemelil, on the other hand, are increasingly looking like they’re headed for the National Super League. The Sugarmen are bottom of the log without a single point and have jut scored one goal while conceding 7 in the process. Francis Baraza’s side is in danger of surrendering their top-flight status this season and could do so in embarrassing fashion should things not change soon enough.

History does not favor Chemelil in this fixture as they have not beaten AFC Leopards in their last 5 meetings and were beaten in both legs last season.

Eugene Mukhangula set up Wyvonne Isuza last time the two played in what was the fastest goals of the season to aid Ingwe to a 2-0 win in the second leg.

The match will be played at the Mumias Sports Complex this Sunday, September 29 and kicks off at 2 PM.
