Ruto Takes Over Ukambani As Thousands Throng His Rally(PHOTOS)

Deputy President William Ruto was on Friday, in Kitui where he was warmly welcomed by local leaders during a development tour of Kitui East.

Leaders present in the event included; Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East), Rachael Mbai (Kitui South), Fabiani Kyule (Kangundo), Vincent Musyoka (Mwala)and Machakos Town Mp Victor Munyaka.

He was welcomed warmly by huge crowds as seen below. In his speech, he urged leaders to set aside their political differences and unite to confront the challenges facing the country.

During a youth empowerment programme, Nzombe Stadium, Kitui East, Kitui County he said the empowerment and skills development of the youth was an integral component of their progress and ignited their potential to foster a better future.

It prepared them for leadership roles; furthers job opportunities; advances entrepreneurship and innovation.

He also inspected the progress of construction of Kitui East Technical Training Institute (TTI), Nzombe, Kitui County.

During the development tour, Dr Ruto launched the Last Mile Connectivity programme in Kitui East constituency.

He said the Government had set aside Sh2 billion for the construction of 42 kilometres of roads in Kitui county.

“We will also spend Sh800 million to connect more than 20,000 residents to power in Kitui County,” he said.
