A 50-year-old watchman was on Wednesday found murdered at a church in Bumutiru Village, a matter that was reported at Bumala police station, Busia.
The church pastor is reported to have found him dead having suffered deep cuts on the mouth and neck.
The pastor reported that items amounting to Ksh 500,000 had been stolen from the church in what appears to have been a robbery.
The items included one amplifier, a generator, a mixer equalizer, a keyboard piano, speakers and other assorted church items.
Police officers from Bumala police station visited the scene of crime and moved the body to Day Classmate Funeral parlor in Sega.
They vowed to conduct investigations and bring the culprits to book.
Elsewhere, a 33-year-old man was found hanging dead inside his house at Mudanya village, in the same county.
Police officers at Bumala Police station found the body of Hesbon Buruma hanging on a piece of cloth.
The body was moved to Busia County referral hospital Mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination.
The suspected suicide is set to be investigated by Funyala police officers.
