Bandari FC has been handed a major boost ahead of Friday’s Caf Confederation Cup return leg match against Tunisian side, Stade de Ben Guerdane after star-man Abdallah Hassan was passed fit to feature in the game.
The winger picked a jaw injury when the two sides faced-off two weeks ago in Nairobi and sat out of Bandari’s matches against Zoo FC and Sony Sugar FC, matches which Bandari won to move joint top in the Kenyan Premier League table.
Next for the Dockers in a do-or-die match against the Tunisians that will be staged in the City of Guerdane, a win for Bernard Mwalala’s side will see them qualify for Caf Confederation Cup group stage for the first time ever.
In an interview, Mwalala confirmed that speedster Hassan is fully-fit again and will be part of the team that will hit the runway on Wednesday evening.
“Hassan is fit and he will play in Tunisia. He is one of our key players and having him back is a massive boost for us. We are looking forward to a good outing in Tunis,” Mwalala told Opera News.
At the same time, the former Kenyan international confirmed that forward Benjamin Mosha will not travel with the rest of the team due to a hamstring problem. New signings Justin Ndikumana, Sosthenes Idah, Katana Agege, and Patrick Mugendi will also sit out as they have not been registered for the competition.
“Mosha is definitely out. He is still struggling with a hamstring problem and we will miss him on Friday. Ndikumana, Idah, Agege, and Mugendi are not registered and so they will not be traveling with us,” he added.
