Police are investigating a head-on collision between a motor vehicle and a motorcycle which left one dead and another nursing serious injuries on a Monday afternoon accident.
On the 3 pm accident, the driver of the motor vehicle who has been identified as Mathew Kipchumba Cheruiyot was reportedly driving from Eldoret towards Eldama Ravine while the motorcycle was coming in the opposite direction.
It is alleged that the collision dragged the bodaboda operator and its passenger for about 30 metres.
As a result, the operator and the passenger sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Eldama Ravine sub-county hospital where the operator succumbed to injuries while the passenger was admitted in serious condition.
His body was moved to the hospital’s mortuary awaiting identification and postmortem.
Both motor vehicle and motorcycle are in police custody pending inspection.
On another case, at around 10 pm in Ngoswe area, a middle-aged man was attacked by three unknown youth assailants who inflicted serious injuries on him.
Hamisi Salim Abdallah was rushed to Marigat sub-county hospital but his condition worsened and was referred to Nakuru referral hospital where he succumbed to injuries two days later.
The case is pending and under investigation.
