Senior Counsel Ahmednassir Abdullahi has accused Chief Justice David Maraga of wasting judicial time by meeting foreign dignitaries.
The Senior Counsel, while reacting to a tweet posted by the CJ after meeting British High Commissioner to Kenya Jane Marriot stated, “With tremendous respect to Hon CJ, precious judicial time should not be wasted on meeting foreign dignitaries while delayed judgments are the defining feature of his Court 75.”
He also took issue with that the Supreme Court for not addressing the pending revenue case before it.
On Monday, CJ Maraga posted photos on Twitter announcing his meetings with two ambassadors who had paid him a courtesy call at his office.

CJ Maraga first met with Ambassador of Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Jesus Manzanilla and then British High Commissioner to Kenya Jane Marriot.

It is not the first time Ahmednassir has openly criticised CJ Maraga.
in 2018, he blasted him over massive corruption in the Judiciary.
Ahmednassir said he had never practised before “a more inept, corrupt, tribal and politically compromised Judiciary as is the Judiciary that is now under CJ Maraga”.
In 2017, he also criticised the Supreme Court for calling for a repeat election saying the verdict was a political act.
