Chemelil Sugar are not scared by Gor Mahia’s 2-1 victory against KCB from a Kenyan Premier League match played on Sunday at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Brave still, the Millers are not even distracted by their terrible 4-0 freefall at the hands of Sofapaka at the Narok County Stadium.

Head coach Francis Baraza says his side is ready to face K’Ogalo anytime with a clear mindset of posing a real challenge to the 18-time Kenyan Premier League giants, despite the fact that his boys could not hold Batoto ba Mungu. He says they were unlucky against Sofapaka and that they will stage the real fight against Sofapaka.

“It is unfortunate that we have been beaten today (Sunday, September 22) by Sofapaka. We know that Gor Mahia will be our opponents soon for a fixture which was rescheduled and that in itself should give us more pressure to get ready for the real war. We will not have any time to sulk for this Sofapaka result because we want to beat Gor Mahia,” Baraza told Opera News.

Their match was to be played last week but the league management postponed it to a later date- a move which came a few hours after Gor Mahia Chairman Ambrose Rachier moved all home matches out of Moi Stadium, Kisumu.

Due to this, both teams, Chemelil Sugar and Gor Mahia have played two matches, one less than the rest of the clubs in the local league.

So far, Chemelil Sugar have not won a single match and are placed at the basement of the 18-team league table with zero points after being defeated by Zoo Kericho and Sofapaka.
