Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua on Tuesday took to Twitter to thank God after being ranked the best performing governor in the latest poll.
“Thanks. Glory be to God. I am just an instrument for his work,” Mutua stated on Twitter
The Devolution Assessment study released by All Africa Advisors, on Tuesday, at the Intercontinental Hotel, listed all the governors using perceptions of the respondents on 14 indicators.
Mutua led the pack with a scorecard of 460.

The study ranked council of Governors Chairman and Kakamega Governor, Wycliffe Oparanya second, with a score of 440.
Nairobi’s Mike Sonko came in third with a scorecard of 406 national performance.
Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana came in fourth and Mombasa County Head Ali Joho was ranked fifth.
Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti and Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waitutu were ranked among the worst-performing governors in the country at number 46 and 47 respectively.
Busia’s Sospeter Ojaamong, Lamu’s Fahim Twaha, Amason Kingi of Kilifi came at positions 45, 44 and 43 respectively among the 47 county bosses.
Other governors, who featured at the bottom positions include John Nyagarama (Nyamira), Martin Wambora (Embu), Cornel Rasanga (Siaya), Wycliff Wangamati (Bungoma) and Ali Korane of Garissa.
