Makueni Senator, Mutula Kilonzo Junior, joined the list of politicians who commented on slain businessman Tob Cohen’s murder case on Monday morning.

On Friday last week, an operation led by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss, George Kinoti, discovered the body of Cohen in a septic tank.

Commenting on an article in the Daily Nation, Kilonzo Junior took to social media to express faith and satisfaction with the current office bearers at the DCI.

At the same time, he also blasted the former director(s) of the DCI for being, “incompetent, lethargic, compromised or all of the above,” a statement on his official twitter account read.

The senator seemed to direct his sentiments to the former Director of DCI, Ndegwa Muhoro. Up until Kinoti’s assumption of office in early 2018, Muhoro had a controversial tenure spanning up to seven years.

Among the many accusations levelled against him, one of the notable ones would be Independent Police Oversight Authority’s report, which claimed Mr Muhoro influenced the transfer of three senior police officers unjustifiably since they were investigating a matter involving one of his friends.

In contrast, Mr Kinoti is yet to be named in any of the sagas let alone suspected. If anything, some of the high profile cases have been presented to the court by his office.

Under his tenure, in a year or so in office, high profile individuals and politicians were presented in court either for fraud or tax evasion cases.
