Is It time For Unai Emery to Leave Arsenal?

Arsenal missed out of a chance to go level on points with Manchester City in the English Premier League table when they drew 2-2 with Watford on Sunday. The Gunners were leading 2-0 at half time but capitulated in the second half and were lucky to go home with a point.

The result raises questions on the playing staff at the club but that can be excused as Arsenal spent loads of money in the transfer window to bring in quality players. The focus of blame has to shift on the manager Unai Emery.

The Spaniard has been at the club for over a year but progress has been minimal if any. He does not have a definite playing style and changes formations every week and sometimes even 3 times in a single match. What exactly is his philosophy?

Prior to the draw at Vicarage Rod, there were rumors that Arsenal players were getting confused with how the manager keeps giving them different instruction in every other match they play in. To make matters worse, he is not fluent in English which makes communication more difficult.

Since he was poointed as Arsenal manager, Unai Emery has bought five defenders but the team’s defensive structure and organization is basically non-existent! Against Watford, Arsenal conceded 31 shots at goal which is the highest the team has ever faced in 15 years.

His substitutions are suspect too and reek of a manager who has no clue of what he is doing as he did by subbing off Dani Ceballos against Watford to bring on Reiss Nelson who went on to have a disastrous match.

Things are not looking good for Arsenal at the moment an to be fair, they have not looked any better in the entire period that Unai Emery has been the coach. Is it time for him to leave the Emirates? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below..
