Embakasi East Member of Parliament Paul Ongili, alias Babu Owino, has promised Deputy President William Ruto a major political showdown.
The MP took to social media to inform the DP that he is going to lose, through his candidate McDonald Mariga, in the Kibra by-election.
Reacting to a comment by one of his followers, the hard-hitting MP said: ” Ruto cant beat me. He tried me in Embakasi East and I defeated him. I am going to show him dust in the Kibra by-elections.”
The MP further went ahead and urged the ODM Party leader Raila Odinga to spare his energy and let him face-off with Ruto at any given time.
“Let Raila leave Ruto for me. I have braved Hyena’s teeth. I am unshakable,” added the MP.
Babu had posted on his social media page about his presidential ambitions when his follower gave a contradicting reaction.
Regarding his desire to lead the country, the MP said: “I will have candidates across the country that I will sponsor in 2022 elections and ensure that they win in preparation for my presidential bid in 2027. Get used to your president this early.”
The former student leader has already declared his quest to take over Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko after the 2022 General Elections.
The MP will be among a group of legislators, led by ODM director of elections Junet Mohamed, tasked by their party leader to ensure that they clinch the Kibra seat.
ODM Party handed Bernard Okoth, brother to the late MP, its ticket after he won the party primaries.
The Orange candidate will face off with Jubilee’s McDonald Mariga, ANC’s Eliud Owalo among many other candidates.
The seat fell vacant after the death of Ken Okoth who succumbed to colorectal cancer on July 26.
The by-election is slated for November 7.
