Two families from Leltot farm in Kipkabus Uasin Gishu county are in mourning following the death of their two children who died after drowning in an abandoned dam in the area.
According to reports, a class three pupil on Saturday evening slide and fell on the abandoned Chinese dam before another a TTI student who was trying to save the drowning pupil also perished
The dam was constructed this year by a Chinese contractor which is tarmacking Drys-Naiberi road.

According to the former area MCA Nicholas Maraba the residents have not gotten any assistance from the government so far in retrieving the two bodies.
The process of retrieving the two bodies is ongoing with residents using a generator to pump water out of the deserted dam.
The residents have cried foul over the construction company lamenting that they were to cover up the dam after the construction works but have since failed to do so.
