Kenyan Premier League (KPL) resumes this weekend after the international break.

Seven matches are on cards; five on Saturday, September 14 and two on Sunday, September 15. The matches, which mark the second round of the 2019/20 season will be played at various venues ranging from Kisumu to Machakos.

Key of them are those pitting Tusker against Mathare United, Western Stima against Wazito and AFC Leopards against Kariobangi Sharks.

Mathare United and Tusker are going to the match without a win, and it will be fascinating to see who blinks first in what is expected to be a fireworks encounter at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday. The Brewers want to forget, as fast as possible, their 5-2 humiliation by leaders Gor Mahia in their previous tie, while the Slum Boys will be keen on registering their first win after being held by stubborn Bandari in front of home fans.

Another match to watch is Wazito’s visit to Western Stima at Moi Stadium, Kisumu. The moneybags shook the transfer window by making the highest number of signings including former Gor Mahia players. However, they failed to outshine cash-strapped Nzoia Sugar in the league opener, and they will be out to prove a point when they meet the Salim Babu-coached side on Saturday.

On Sunday, AFC Leopards will be looking for their first win this season when they lock horns with Kariobangi Sharks at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani. Ingwe are going to the match from a 0-1 loss to their boggy brothers Kakamega Homeboyz, and they will be playing all their hearts off in the pitch so as not to disappoint their mammoth fans. Sharks, on the other hand, are also keen on bagging all the points from the battle.

Other matches on the weekend fixtures are Nzoia Sugar vs Sony Sugar in Bungoma, Ulinzi Stars vs Sofapaka in Nakuru, Posta Rangers vs Kakamega Homeboyz in Machakos and KCB vs new-kid Kisumu All Stars in Machakos.
