Gem Member of Parliament (MP) Elisha Odhiambo has scolded Thirdway Alliance Party Leader Ekuru Aukot for linking ODM’s Leader Raila Odinga in the ongoing onslaught against his Punguza Mizigo bill.

Speaking in Nyando at funeral ceremony, the MP cautioned the former presidential candidate against involving the former prime minister in petty matters that are not befitting his status.

“I want to remind my brother Punguza Mizigo dont talk about Raila. This Punguza Mizigo was invented in Cedars  Lenana road where there are slay queens. Raila does not go to where slay queens are. His age does not allow him to,” said the MP.

The MP was accompanied by Orange Party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, Senators Jame Orengo and Fred Outa, Governor Anyang Nyong’o, Nairobi Woman Rep Esther Passaris and Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo among others.

The leaders insisted that the Punguza Mizigo Bill was not going anywhere and declared that they will wait for an all-inclusive report from the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) for the next course of action.

“…that one MP for a total population of about four million people. So let us agree on the following, that we will reject Punguza Mizigo for reason. We will reject it and wait for BBI, ” said Otiende.

On Thursday, Aukot blasted former prime minister and Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, accusing them of propagating lies against the Punguza Mizigo Bill.

“As the debate on the Punguza Mizigo Bill gains its own momentum, especially with growing support from the public and the county assemblies, it is very unfortunate that it has also been hijacked by a group of the political class who have told blatant lies about the bill,” said Aukot.

He also named Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege, Rarieda, MP Otiende Amolo, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and MPs Owen Baya (Kilifi North) and Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay Woman Rep) as the other leaders sabotaging its progress.
