Injury Rules Out Wazito Captain Ahead of Western Stima Clash

Wazito interim captain Joe Waithira is set to miss the team’s trip to Kakamega where they will play Western Stima at Bukhungu stadium after suffering a knock during a training session.

This will be a setback to the winger who was itching to get back into action after recovering from a back injury, the good news being he will be available for Wazito’s next match.

Wazito FC in action against Nzoia

Coach Fred Ambani has made five changes to the squad that played out to a one all draw against Nzoia Sugar in the last match before the league took a break to pave way for the international break.

Youngster Bixente Otieno joins former Sony Sugar man Kevin Omondi in the travelling list of goalkeepers. He is joined by Kenya U20 player Musa Masika, Dan Owino, Teddy Osok and Victor Ndinya.

Former Gor Mahia defensive duo of Abouba Sibomana and Karim Nizigiyimana are part of the travelling party that includes Ali Abondo another former man of the Green army.

Notably, the towering Derrick Otanga will be tasked with the role of scoring goals for the money bags in an attack line that includes Derrick Onyango, Elvis Rupia and Victor Ndinya as they go in search of their first premier league this season.Wazito lie tenth in the standings with a solitary point from their first match, same as Stima who sit on eighth.
