September is turning out to be the month when Kenyans pull daring heists. On Wednesday, gunmen stole an unknown amount of money belonging to Equity Bank from an aircraft at Moyale Airstrip. This is the second such heist to be executed within a week. Last week, robbers masquerading as police stole Ksh 72 million belonging to Standard Chartered Bank.

The question is, where are Kenyans getting the guts to execute such daring acts?

More than 1,000 individuals have been named as the original beneficiaries of land allocations in Mau Forest, which authorities described as the genesis of the long-running crisis.

Some of the 1,029 individuals described as “original landowners” are said to have invaded the protected water tower, hived off about 14,000 hectares and sold the parcels to at least 6,965 unsuspecting locals.

A Jubilee Party official has filed a petition with the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal seeking State officers to be disqualified from holding political party posts.

The petition targeting Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju has been filed by Patrick Kabundu, the party’s Mombasa County secretary. Tuju is a cabinet secretary without portfolio.

Thirdway Alliance party leader Ekuru Aukot has dismissed claims the Punguza Mizigo Bill is linked to Deputy President William Ruto.

Speaking on Wednesday after tabling of the draft bill at the Busia county assembly, Aukot termed the notion as cheap propaganda, denying claims Ruto is financing the bill.
