Kenyan Premier League side, KCB will be without keeper Peter Manyika Junior for a month due to finger-fracture he suffered in training.

The Tanzanian started KCB’s first match of the season against Sony Sugar in Awendo a fortnight ago where he kept a clean-sheet as the Bankers strolled to a 3-0 win over the Millers.

The Bankers, through a statement posted on their social media pages, have confirmed that the former Simba SC and Singida United will be out for four weeks. He will miss KCB’s matches against Kisumu All Stars, Gor Mahia, Kakamega Homeboyz and Nzoia Sugar FC.

In his absence, coach Zedekiah Otieno will turn to Ugandan Allan Owiny and former Bandari keeper Joseph Okoth to fill the void left by the shot-stopper. Manyika joined KCB from Singida in November 2018 but endured a difficult start to life in the Kenyan Premier League losing his place in the starting team and eventually lost even the sub’s slot.

It was widely expected that the keeper would be shown the door but shockingly it’s Zamu Adisa who was in goal for the entire second leg that was axed.Image result for peter manyika junior

“Goalkeeper Peter Manyika is set to be sidelined for up to four weeks with a fractured finger which he sustained during training. Quick recovery bro,” the club tweeted.

The Bankers will be back in action on Saturday when they host Kisumu All Stars at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. All Stars lost their opening match to Ulinzi Stars a fortnight ago in Kisumu and will be looking to redeem themselves against the Bankers. Ian Motanda and Moses Odhiambo who ditched All Stars will be facing their former side.
