Kenya Premier League giants AFC Leopards has confirmed that attacking midfielder Wyvonne Isuza will captain the team on Match Day 2 in the Kenyan top flight.

AFC Leopards will take on Kariobangi Sharks at the Moi Sports Centre- Kasarani on Sunday, September 15 from 4.15 p.m. Isuza will captain the team in the absence of midfielder Robinson Kamura who is out with an injury.

Soter Kayumba captained the side during the 1-0 loss to Kakamega Homeboyz but sources close to the Den indicate that a section of the management was not happy with the decision.

Kayumba only joined AFC Leopards two months ago and it is natural that he is yet to completely settle in a new team and country as he hails from Rwanda.

Isuza is the official assistant captain but does not fancy having the armband on. The midfielder was impressive for the National team Harambee Stars when they played against the Uganda Cranes on Sunday.

He had initially started on the bench but was introduced in the 40th minute following a disastrous start from Francis Kimanzi’s team.

His introduction immediately improved Harambee Stars and they went on to record a 1-1 draw.

Kariobangi Sharks drew 2-2 with Western Stima in their first match of the season. AFC Leopards have not beaten Kariobangi Sharks in their last six matches. Both legs last season ended in a 1-1 draw.
