DCI promises to act on blogger Alai’s request

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has promised to take a stun action on burglars allegedly targeting single mothers in the affluent residences of Nairobi.

This is after blogger Robert Alai, on Tuesday, claimed on his Twitter page that a group of burglars were giving the mothers hard time by going after hem in their illegal activities.

“a gang of burglars is said to be targeting houses of single female parents in Kileleshwa, Kilimani and Lavington neighbourhoods.Hey @NPSOfficial_KE protect the people, especially our mothers. @DCI_Kenya,” tweeted Alai.

The blogger went ahead and claimed: ” Kileleshwa, Kilimani and Muthangari Police stations are not helping much.”

Barely an hour later, the DCI responded by thanking the blogger and promising to act swiftly.

“Thank you for sharing this with us- the information has been received & we will look into the matter.Meanwhile, kindly advise all those who have shared these complaints with you to make a formal report at DCI #Kilimani for ease of reference,” tweeted the DCI.

In February this year, a sole burglar, nicknamed ‘Spiderman’ was reportedly terrorising residents of Kilimani and Kileleshwa.

The Spiderman was captured on CCTV cameras armed with only a bag and skills to scale from one floor to another to steal valuables.

Many victims complained of losing cash and other valuable items.

Four suspects were later arrested and were reportedly faced charges of robbery with violence.
