Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro claims Nasa Leader Raila Odinga is unsalable in Murang’a.

The beleaguered Kiharu Member of Parliament has candidly told off Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination Fred Matiangi and his Permanent Secretary Karanja Kibicho saying they should not involve police officers in political matters.

“Our CS Matiangi and his PS Kibicho, I want to caution you, the work you have been given is not for politicking, keep our police officers off political allegiances. You should not misuse the instruments of power you have been given by our President Uhuru Kenyatta,” said the MP.

“We have been receiving a lot of threats I and Alice Wahome telling us that they will frustrate us until we give up on DP Ruto but that is not possible,”  said the MP.

He blamed his latest woes to his his political allegiance saying supporting DP Ruto as well as being a Tanga Tanga member was the reason why he was targeted.

Besides, the MP said he will not be destructed on his course as he champions for Deputy President William Ruto’s Statehouse bid.

The Mp went ahead to claim that his constituents had sent him to advocate for DP Ruto’s agenda adding that supporting Nasa leader Raila Odinga was akin to committing a political suicide.

“I cannot commit political suicide as Kiharu MP. I listen to this people there is no way you will force me to sell Raila in Murang’a and he is not sellable.

MP Maina Kamanda speaks to journalists after the standoff outside the Gitui Catholic Church.

The problem is not me it is my people. Let them deal with the citizens. I have listened to my people and I cannot sell Raila at the barrel of a gun,” said the MP.

On Sunday, at Gitui Catholic Church in Murang’a County,  Kamanda and Nyoro turned a church fundraiser into a chaotic scene after they clashed on who was to welcome guests to address the church.

After addressing the congregation, Nyoro demanded that he introduce the visiting MPs but Kamanda opposed saying he was the chief guest, hence it was his duty to do so.

Chaos resulted for minutes as both sides remained adamant on their stand.

Nevertheless the push and pull later calmed and the fundraiser continued.

However, when Nyoro appeared for an interview at Inooro Tv, hours later, a contingent of police officers was seen at the Royal Media Services (RMS), ostensibly to arrest him.

Reacting to the police presence, the MP said the move must have been prompted by the chaotic scene at the church service and said he will not leave the media’s premises adding that his security was at risk.

According to Citizen Television political affairs editor, Francis Gachuri, the Kiharu MP left RMS premises at 11.30pm in the company of fellow MPs.
