The speedy left-back joined the Swedish third-tier side in July 2018. He has been a key player for the side and his good performances at the African Cup of Nations in June drew the attention of several European clubs.

The Kakamega High School alumnus has now disclosed that his association with Vasalund will come to an end at the end of the current campaign and also revealed that he has offers from Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish clubs.

“I have had good moments with IF Vasalund and I think my stay will come to an end at the end of the season. Playing in Europe is not easy but through hard work, I am glad my agent has received offers from Portugal and Spain. I think I will make the decision once the season is over. I am also looking at signing for another club in Sweden,” he told the Star.

Marcelo took the Kenyan Premier League by storm in 2016 when he joined Gor Mahia straight from school. He displaced Rwandese left-back and Uganda’s Godfrey Walusumbi from the left-back position. After a season with the side, he moved to Georgia where he signed for Kolkheti Poti. He later moved to  Albanian side, KS Kastrioti before settling in Sweden.
