DNA Confirms Paternity of Ken Okoth’s Son

DNA results of Nairobi MCA, Ann Thumbi’s son, were on Thursday released following claims that the child was fathered by the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth.

Reports claimed that the test came out positive with a 99.9 percent match, which confirmed that the child belonged to the late lawmaker.

This comes after Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, revealed that the late Okoth had an affair with the nominated MCA.

Sonko, who spoke during the deceased’s memorial service, had called for the three-year-old-son to be accepted by the family and allowed to be part of the burial arrangements of the father.

“Ken had a son with one of the nominated Nairobi MCAs by the name Ann Thumbi alias Anita.

“The two love birds did not hide the fact that they shared a son. Ken recognised and was there for his son as demonstrated by pictures and various documented correspondences,” remarked the Nairobi Governor.

Thumbi had on August 3 threatened to move to court after she was allegedly barred from being part of Ken’s cremation ceremony.

Lawyer Elkanah Mogaka, Thumbi’s legal representative, had reiterated that Okoth’s family went against the decision that had been made by the court, to allow his client’s son Jayden, to participate in the send-off of the Kibra MP.

“I can confirm to you that Jayden was not included in the cremation ceremony and as it stands, the family is in disobedience of the court order and we will be taking action on the same,” explained the lawyer.
