Bandari FC coach Bernard Mwalala has given an update on the progress of central defender Bernard Odhiambo. The player suffered a season-ending injury last season and missed Bandari’s first league match of the new season against Mathare United.

“Bernard Odhiambo will be out for longer because he is undergoing rehab for an ACL tear. This is a major injury and we expect him to be out for a longer period of time, it’s the reason why we decided to sign Sosthenes Idah so that we can give him all the time he needs to recover,” Mwalala told Opera News.

The tactician also revealed that goalkeeper Mustafa Oduor will be out for close to a month after suffering a tore fracture.

“Mustafa Oduor has a tore fracture.  He is currently on the treatment table and in around one month he will be okay. But we are not worried because we have two keepers available (, Justin Ndikumana and Michael Wanyika). We just pray that they don’t pick injuries,” he added.

Bandari makes huge leaps last season and finished second in the league having pushed Gor Mahia to the limit all season. The team also won the SportPesa Shield title beating Kariobangi Sharks 2-1 in the final.

The Dockers next match is a CAF Confederations Cup first leg encounter with Ben Guerdane on September 14.
