Kyuso Level Four hospital in Mwingi North, Kitui County, has been closed down indefinitely after fears of insecurity were reported in the facility.

According to reports, the hospital was closed after security fears owing to the leaflets circulated warning non-local workers to vacate the facility or face consequences.

The source of the leaflets was, however, unknown although reports indicate that area MCA Stephen Makau had been accused of inciting locals against employees of the facility.

Police have already started investigations into the matter.

The threats come in the wake of xenophobic attacks that have hit most parts of South Africa. It is suspected that the leaflets singling out non-locals were inspired by the ongoing attacks where foreigners are being targeted.

Xenophobic attacks south africans

Tension still remains high in the Southern Africa country where it is reported that shops have been looted and foreigners attacked by hoardes of infuriated locals in Gauteng, who were systematically targeting non-native business owners and immigrants.

Following the threats, many Kenyans expressed their concerns warning against a similar scenario in Kitui. Here are some of the reactions;

Kevin Odhiambo Whaaat….
