Maasai Mara University Vice Chancellor Prof Mary Walingo has finally responded to the damning revelations of massive looting in the Institution.

Walingo who was described as ‘Ng’ombe Kubwa‘( Big cow) in the Citizen TV investigative story dubbed Mara Heist on Sunday night, has refuted claims of being at the center of the looting bleeding the University dry.

Instead, Walingo gives credit to Citizen TV, claiming she has been struggling for a while to get rid of the gluttonous individuals stealing away the future of Maasai Mara University students.

“I would like to take this chance to thank Citizen tv for highlighting a damning heist at the the Maasai Mara University. It helps me in the daunting task that I have been undertaking in attempting to rig the university of deceptive and gluttonous individuals who have  been looting from the university coffers  for a while.  This continuous impropriety looting not only steals away the future of our children but also impairs development of our institution,” She stated.

Walingo goes ahead to claim that anyone implicated in the Mara Heist expose should be ready to face full force of the law.

I am willing to go over and beyond and even sacrifice everything to make sure that we secure the future of the young ones. I want to assure you fellow Kenyans and  everyone who is in any way  found culpable for misdeeds at the university will have nothing but consequences of their actions to face. Fellow parents, members of staff and my dearly beloved students,  do not lose hope. Bright  days lie ahead of us. We shall succeed,” Walingo stated.

In the revelations, one of the university’s chief accountant named Spencer Sankale reveals through audios and documents how Walingo had been withdrawing millions of money directly from the university’s accounts without proper explanations.
