Deputy President William Ruto’s recent tour of Nandi county has left some tongues wagging after nearly all Members of Parliament from his Rift Valley backyard notably missed his functions.

Dr. William Ruto was on Tuesday in Uasin Gishu and Nandi counties to unveil various hospital equipment as well as commissioning new health facilities in the two counties.

Ruto who first landed in Kipkorgot in Uasin Gishu to lead in the opening of the Living Room International Hospital Eldoret, was welcomed by the county governor Jackson Mandago together with Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut.

Notably absent from the function was vocal Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, Moiben’s Silas Tiren, Eldoret South Mishra Kiprob among other legislators from the county.

The worst came after landing in Nandi county to launch and commission different health facilities and hospital equipment. Out of the over five Nandi county MPs, none was present to welcome Ruto into the county.

Instead, they were all represented by Kimilili Mp Hon. Didmus Barasa who was present to welcome Ruto to the county together with Nandi Governor Stephen Sang.

Their absence from the functions have left a section of social media users asking questions as to why the legislators had decided to abandon their master.
