List of roads in Nairobi that are death traps

A section of roads in Nairobi have been identified as death spots based on the number of incidents reported.

Analysis by  NTSA indicated that the capital was at the top in reference to the number of deaths experienced on the road.

Mombasa Road, lead in the list with 27 deaths, while Outering that had 23 was ranked second with Waiyaki Way and Thika Road that had 18, were ranked third according to a report released by the transport authorities.

Roads such as Kangundo Road, Jogoo Road, Eastern Bypass and Juja Road completed the list having 16, 12 and 10 fatalities respectively.

The statistics by NTSA had further showed that the number of deaths in the country had increased by 276 from last year.

In 2018, Nairobi was termed to have had 74 blackspots out of the 273 that were recognized by the transport body.

In other news, Davis Mwambili famously referred to as Inspekta Mwala, was on Monday involved in a hit and run case.

Mwabili was arrested and escorted to Kaloleni Police Station after he hit and killed a pedestrian in Kilifi County.

Police reports stated that the actor hit the man on Mazeras highway as he crossed the road.

The embattled Mwabili was later released on bail while his vehicle remained detained at the police station.
