State House Digital Director, Dennis Itumbi, has disagreed with Jubilee Party over the alleged fake letter which Kenya’s football star Macdonald Mariga emerged as a surprise contender in the upcoming Kibra by-election.
Through his Twitter handle, Itumbi has insisted that the letter which was widely shared online is the same letter that Jubilee Party sent to IEBC with Mariga among the 5 individuals listed.

The blogger also revealed that Mariga, a decorated international footballer with a Champions League medal, is a registered member of Jubilee with a Party Reference number JP13941721.
For the record, contrary to the rumour being circulated by some people somewhere online, Macdonald Mariga is a Jubilee Party Member.

Moreover,Itumbi has added that Jubilee will conduct interviews to decide Kibra flag-bearer on Sunday.
Jubilee National Elections Board settled on a list of 5 names today. They then sent letter to @IEBCKenya. Jubilee will conduct interviews to decide Kibra flagbearer on Sunday.

However, the party dismissed the document as fake news and urged Kenyans to ignore any claims made in the doctored letter.
“This letter doing rounds online is fake news. Please ignore and treat it with the contempt it deserves,” the Party said.
Tuju had earlier on Monday announced that Jubilee leadership had consulted and decided to field a candidate. He said their analysis and consultations confirm that Jubilee is competitive enough in the forthcoming political contest.
“It is noteworthy that the neighbouring Lang’ata constituency was won by a Jubilee candidate contrary to conventional political analysis. We are therefore giving notice to our members who are interested in contesting the seat on a Jubilee party ticket to forward their applications to National elections board,” said Tuju.
