Interior Cabinet Secretary, Dr Fred Matiang’i, has sent a warning to a section of political leaders, which met on Wednesday night to plan on how to transport people to their places of birth for census.

Speaking on Thursday during a press briefing by the Cabinet Committee for the census, Matiang’i revealed that he had details of the meeting, which he was monitoring keenly before pressing charges against the leaders.

“Some of this primitive our political leaders have lived with for a long time, moving people around, hustling others that this clan must be here and there, Let’s stop these things,” Matiang’i stated.

He added, ” I’m aware as I speak to you this morning that we are following up certain of those kinds of activities in certain parts of the country. We are ready because we are monitoring you, we are watching you, we are aware of the meeting you had last night, at an appropriate time we will ensure that you meet with the law so that you’re helped to be a decent leader.

Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria, has been at the forefront urging residents, especially of Mt Kenya region, to go back to their places of birth in the upcoming census.

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child,” he stated through a Facebook post.

To football fans who sought to have him change his decision citing the much-publicized Liverpool vs Arsenal match that begins at 7:30pm on Saturday, Matiang’i remained adamant asking soccer lovers to watch the game from their homes.

“You can watch Arsenal and Liverpool at home, your family may have the rare chance of watching with you,” Matiang’i stated.
