Anne Waiguru would not be a governor today. She would probably be in court trying to clear her name in the multi-million NYS scandal. But the Kirinyaga governor will forever remain indebted to Maryanne Keittany, the estranged wife of Meru Senator Mithika Linturi.

Through a testimony in court, Keittany revealed how she entertained Linturi at a lodging in Naivasha to prevent him from tabling an impeachment motion against Waiguru. Waiguru is now a powerful governor and one of the favorites to be deputy president in 2022. After Sonko, fear women!

Deputy President William Ruto has been warned against rigging the 2022 Presidential elections. Makueni MP Dan Maanzo has said that Kenyans will not accept another rigged election after a series of similar claims in previous polls.

”Kama kura imeibiwa utapata shida. Hata sio kutoka kwa Raila lakini kwa wakenya wenyewe.” The Wiper Legislator said during an interview on a local radio station on Tuesday.

Anglican Archbishop Calls on Leaders to Tone Down Referendum Talk

The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) has warned that the referendum debate is becoming divisive and could easily derail the Government’s development agenda.

Speaking yesterday during a pastors’ conference in Nakuru, ACK Archbishop Jackson ole Sapit asked the political class to put aside their political ambitions while pushing for the plebiscite.

“The referendum talk is dividing the country. Let us do a proper audit of the current Constitution to ensure we deal with topical issues. This should not be about sharing political power,” said Sapit.

Joho Implicated in Kenya Railways Land Scam

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), on Tuesday, launched investigations regarding 27 firms that were allocated prime land belonging to the Kenya Railway Corporation (KRC).

Some of the firms allocated land include Autoport Freight Terminal Ltd, Grain Bulk Handlers and Buzeki Enterprises

Autoport, which was allocated 50 acres, is closely linked to Mombasa Governor, Hassan Joho. During his public spat with President Uhuru Kenyatta leading up to the 2017 polls, the logistics company was a major casualty, with the taxman suspending its operating licence.
