Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has sent online fans into a frenzy after confirming his story about Cristiano Ronaldo pants. The German coach stated that indeed he wore Cristiano Ronaldo-branded pants to make his players laugh.
The Reds midfielder Gini Wijnaldum recently narrated the tale about Klopp seeking to ease the tension on his squad ahead of the 2018 Champions League final against Real Madrid, a match which proved to be Ronaldo’s final one for the Spanish giants.
βHe did the meeting with his shirt stuffed inside his βCR7β boxers,” said Wijnaldum.
“The whole changing room was on the floor laughing their heads off.”
Liverpool lost the Kyiv final after the 3-1 defeat but bounced back a year later to lift the trophy after the 2-0 defeat to their compatriots Tottenham Hotspur.
Following that victory, Klopp was honoured in his native Germany by being named as Bild’s Coach of the Year, after which he confirmed that Wijnaldum’s story was true.
“Some years ago when I was buying underpants, I simply grabbed some from the Ronaldo shelf. During the final, I deliberately wore them and pulled them very far, up to under my nipples. That was funny,” said Klopp.

Klopp, who has three years remaining on his Liverpool contract, added that he isn’t sure whether he’ll carry on in football after the end of his current deal.
