Names like Jayden, Liam and Kyla are popular with many Kenyan parents today. However, these celebrities have shied away from the popular names and bestowed very unique names upon their children.
Today we look at some of these celebrities and what they named their kids.
1.Bahati and Diana Marua
The reality TV couple recently welcomed their second child and first son together. They named their baby Majesty which means ‘royal power’.The new name was in line with how the Bahati’s choose unique names for their children as their firstborn daughter is named ‘Heaven’ – a name that Diana chose.
2. Mr Seed and Nimmo
This year, the Gospel couple welcomed their first child together and named him Golden Christen Omondi.
The two recently explained why they chose this quirky name for their baby.
“Mr Seed chose the name Gold and had it in his mind for a very long time. He used to say that he liked the name Gold and if he got a child he would name them Gold. I chose the name Christen meaning Christ’s follower. His full name is Gold Christen Omondi, Omondi is his father’s name,” Nimmo said during a phone call with Mzazi Willy Tuva.
Mr Seed then added “I like the name Gold. I even had the name in mind before we thought of getting a baby. I have a tattoo on my hand written Gold.”
3.Nick Mutuma and Bridget Shighadi
The private couple chose the name Dua, a Swahili word which means ‘prayer’.
4.Pierra Makena
DJ Pierra named her baby girl Ricca Pokot a unique name which means ‘a peaceful ruler.’
5.Rama and Shiko Nguru of the Green Calabash
This Youtube couple named their firstborn son Lamu because he was conceived in the picturesque coastal town. Their second-born son is named Tawi which means ‘branch’.
6.Wahu and Nameless
The power couple settled on a Sotho name for their firstborn daughter after asking fans to help them name their child. The name ‘Tumiso’ means ‘Praise to God’
7.Eko Dydda
Eko and his ex Cynthia wanted a name that wouldn’t align their sons to any Kenyan tribe so they named their sons Keepitreal Favour Dydda and Amblessed Wisdom Dydda.
