Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has called for the removal of Aden Duale from the bicameral Committee of parliament constituted to unlock the Division of Revenue Bill 2019.

Dr Mutua has asked the National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi to consider replacing Aden Duale in the committee after they failed to reach a consensus during its inaugural sitting.

“We request the National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi to find a replacement for Duale so that the Majority leader can concentrate on other important national and parliamentary business, the way the Senate Majority leader is doing,” Mutua claimed.

The Machakos County Boss has insisted that the National Assembly Majority leader’s presence in the committee is escalating the crisis which is really ‘hurting’ the counties.

“We respect Aden Duale, but feel that as the Majority leader, the negotiations are not at his stage yet. His presence is not helping but perpetuating differences as Kenyans suffer,” Mutua retorted.

Mutua has gone ahead to insinuate that Duale is protecting his personal interest at the stake of the suffering counties.

“Successful mediation and negotiations are about flexibility, looking at the big picture and an attitude that allows give and take. To this end, we have noticed, and it is in the public domain, that Duale has taken hardline positions and publicly declared his stance,” Mutua said.

According to the Second Term Governor, the Division of Revenue stalemate is more likely to slow down the economy of the country.
