After giving one of the clearest indications that he will still contest for the presidency in the 2022 elections, ODM party leader has set the ball rolling with a majority of Kenyans taking to the Internet to discuss Raila’s probability of winning against DP William Ruto.
While speaking on Saturday in Gem, Siaya County, at the burial of his aunt, Eva Donde, Mr. Odinga had indirectly made his 2022 bid publicly known when he said that ODM was re-strategizing itself in readiness for the 2022 General Elections.
Raila told the mourners that his future ambitions were the main reason he resolved to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2018.
Raila revealed that the handshake was an extension of building bridges which were to take Kenyans to the “promised land” in 2022. He assured his supporters that they will soon get what they had struggled for in many years.
“You have seen me change tack. This is a strategy. There are several ways that can lead us to where our ambition is,” said Raila.
Kenyans online were, however, quick to read Raila’s corded message with some welcoming his candidature while others fiercely criticizing his ambitions terming it as outdated with no solid impact on Ruto’s bid.
Here are some of the views online concerning Raila’s latest bid;
@RailaOdinga is a real political conman. While @TheODMparty is revamping for 2022, he has held Uhuru captive to hold even a mere @JubileePartyK PGM as the party is regrouping to various factions. When @WilliamsRuto tries to awaken the party leader its demeaning to his boss

Eric Mutanyi This is the alignment we have so wished for. The vision of Dr. William Samoei Ruto shall Truely come to pass. It’s good Rao despises Ruto which makes it sweeter. Reminiscent of David verses Goliath, the anointing on Ruto will make soul fall. A sure bet that dynasties will fall. The energy, the clarity of Ruto speak, the experience, the favour, the demeanour iced with humility of Dr. William shall surely hand the trophy into his hands. We don’t fear another swearing and we make it as clear as now that there shall never be another manipulation through handshake.
Onyango Matt Ruto must be smiling wherever he is !! Nobody shd call for demos in Nyanza we are tired of blood sacrifices…
See! How do you go out telling Ruto to stop 2022 politics yet we can see BBI is in itself a strategy and an early campaign for 2022? I am not supporting anyone this is from a fairness point of view.

Dolly Wairimu RUTO all the way, i would rather vote for a thief that has a development minds for people rather than a thief who is a self centered and thinks of himself always, choose your thief wisely, RUTO!
Mwenda Pole I am repeating, Raila should respect himself as a states man & leave this thing for younger generation. If difeated, he will be back on the streets again & the killings will continue as usual.
Ok, ok, but please could you stop with the Promised land nonsense? We already have Awuor's cult for that🙄

Kevin Klein Munyasa We don’t vote for Raila to be president but most of us were born to always vote for him. He is one in a million
Abdinoor Ali We are extremely happy to hear this that Raila a political looser/reject is facing Ruto the king and Professor of Kenyan politics in the forth coming general election we are happy for sure
So where does conmanship come in in reference to Raila? That's upto the Jubilee Party Leadership. Raila is just trying to work smart
