“But of course the only way am going to join Raila Odinga is if Uhuru Kenyatta were to tell me to do so. Till then am Uhuru Pekee,” Ngunjiri stated.

The bold Ngunjiri was an ODM strategist before joining Jubilee in the run-up to the 2017 elections.

This follows an article that was written by the Star Newspaper that suggested that Raila is making inroads in the Central Kenya and Rift Valley region to pick his favorite team that will shape up the next Presidential elections.

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Mumbi Waiganjo is one of Raila’s favorite from the Mt.Kenya region. This was actually evidenced when Waiguru publicly declared that the Central Kenya is ready for Raila’s Presidency.

In what is seen as a strategy to regain support in the vote-rich Rift Valley, the backyard of his former friend turned foe Ruto, Raila has held several consultative meetings with a section of political leaders both from South and North Rift.

He has since won the support from former Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and Cheragany MP Joshua Kuttuny. They have shown interest to work with Baba.

Apart from Waiguru, other leaders from Mt Kenya claiming to be popularizing the handshake include lawmakers Maoka Maore(Igembe North), Muturi Kigano (Kangema) and Wangari Mwaniki (Kigumo).

Others are Peter Mwathi (Limuru), Paul Koinange (Kiambaa), Maina Kamanda (nominated) and Mercy Gakuya (Kasarani) under Kileweke.

Under Embrace they include; Sabina Chege (Murang’a Woman Representative), Priscilla Nyokabi (former Nyeri Woman Rep) and former Nairobi Woman Rep Rachel Shebesh.
