Kiranyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has been on the receiving end of brutal trolls on social media after suggesting that Mt. Kenya region is ready for a political alliance with ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking during an interview on KTN’s Pointblank with Tony Gachoka, the governor was full of praise for the former Prime Minister, saying that Central Kenya is ready for his presidency in 2022.
“If it is Raila, he should know that the region will want a piece of his government,” Waiguru confidently said.
Waiguru and Raila have a long history since her days as the Devolution CS. But she said she is ready to bury the hatchet and work with the AU Envoy because she admires his support for women leadership.
“One thing I have admired about Raila Odinga is his understanding and support for gender equality. He is one leader who is willing to stand with women,” she said.
Anne Waiguru ~ We had a history with Raila Odinga that we needed to settle. That we did !

But it seems her sentiments have not been received well if social media reactions are anything to go by. Some Kenyans have blatantly told the governor to stop daydreaming and concentrate on her marriage.
Some people have also questioned where Waiguru got the mandate to speak for Mt. Kenya residents.
Do not drag us”mount Kenya”people towards your political inclination, being a governor doesn’t give you mandate to be telling me and others who aren’t inclined to your selfish stance…first always ask yourself whom you are addressing
