The impeachment motion comes days after a section of leaders called on DCI George Kinoti to arrest Khaemba over massive corruption.
Trans Nzoia Senator Michael Mbito claimed that governor Khaemba has been hiding receipts of various county transactions. He revealed that he had already reported the matter to the office of Director of Criminal Investigation to open a probe.
Senator Mbito further asked Deputy Governor Stanley Kenei to prepare to take over the county leadership from Khaemba who will suffer the same fate as Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu.
Khaemba once made headlines after threatening to sell the multi-million County Referral Hospital afterMCAs slashed money meant for its completion.
The governor was angered by the MCAs action to reduce the budget allocation for the project from Sh330 million to Sh200 million.
“I’m tired over these baseless claims of corruption and political witch-hunt. I want to ask residents to allow me to sell the facility and return the money to the public,” said a furious Khaemba.
