AFC Leopards closing in on five more players

Kenyan Premier League side AFC Leopards is set to sign five more players ahead of 2019/20 season that kicks off at the end of the month.

Ingwe unveiled seven new players three ago and are set to beef up the team further with five more acquisitions. Among those linked with a move to the den is keeper Eliud Emase who is angling for a return to the den after he was released by Posta Rangers at the end of 2018/19 season.

Tusker FC rightback Collins Shivachi is another player Leopards is set to sign. Shivachi has been training with Leopards after parting ways with Tusker. He has also featured in two friendly matches against FC Talanta and Nairobi City Stars.

Vihiga Bullets central midfielder John Wonder is another player on Ingwe’s radar. The former Palos FC, Kisumu AllStars and Vihiga United has also been training with Ingwe for the last five weeks.

Green Commandos utility man Collins Shichenje is another player who is destined for a move to the den. A defensive midfielder by trade, the Kakamega High School alumnus can also play in central defence, he has featured in two friendly games and has impressed drawing plaudits from fans.

Nairobi Stima winger Douglas Mokaya is another player who could move to the den. The left-footed speedster has been backed to replace Paul Were. Formerly with Bidco United, Mokaya is known for his dribbles, crossing and industriousness.

“They are all players we are looking at. We may sign all of them or some but it’s for the coach to decide,” a source from the den told Opera News.

Leopards already unveiled seven new players. They are: Benjamin Ochan, Soter Kayumba, Robert Ayala, Hansel Ochieng, Tresor Ndikumana, Vincent Habamahoro Ismail and Diarra
