Kenyan Premier League giants, Gor Mahia have completed the signing of Western Stima striker Kennedy ‘Agogo’ Otieno for an undisclosed period, Opera News can report.

Agogo quits Stima, a side he rejoined from Posta Rangers in November 2018 and will be tasked with hunting goals for Gor Mahia who parted ways with three forwards. Erisa Ssekisambu, Francis Mustafa and talisman, Jacques Tuyisenge all left the club.

Agogo will best be remembered for his goal that denied Gor Mahia the league title in 2012. K’Ogalo needed to beat Thika United to clinch the title but Agogo scored a goal for Thika before Rama Salim equalized for Gor. The one-all draw saw Tusker declared champions.

A source from Western Stima has confirmed that the player has decamped to Gor Mahia ahead of 2019/20 campaign where the Hassan Oktay coached team will be keen on retaining the league title and progress further in the Caf Champions League.

“Agogo is now a Gor Mahia player. Everything has been agreed on and he has left, he is now training with them. He was keen on joining them and we couldn’t stand on his way. We wish him all the best at his new club, we will look for an able replacement,” a club official speaking on condition of anonymity told Opera News.

He becomes Gor’s 11th signing after Gislein Yikpe Gnamian, Francis Afriyie, Curtis Wekesa, Dennis Oalo, Abdalla Shira, Tobias Otieno, Elvis Ronack, Maurice Ojwang, Dickson Ambundo and David Mapigano.
