After failing to process his cash bail on time and spending two nights at the Industrial Area remand prison, Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu is already making good friends thanks to the same Prison Cell he has shared with them.
The time and the cell room Waititu shared with his fellow Inmates is however not going to waste after Baba Yao promised to bail out his roommates once he gets out of the prison’s gates on Thursday.
“It is exciting to see my governor doing well and interacting with prisoners, including those who are from Kiambu county. He will be released tomorrow. Expect a cabinet meeting soon thereafter. He has promised to pay bail for those that he shared a cell with once he is out” posted Waititu’s friend Karung’o wa Thanwa.
Waititu’s promises have however elicited reactions from social media users some congratulating the embattled governor for his generosity with others questioning how he will help them when he (Waititu) had not bailed himself out.
The Governor was on Tuesday released on a cash bail of Ksh.15 million and Ksh.30 million bond after denying graft charges over a Ksh.588 million irregular tender.
Here are some of the reactions on Facebook and Twitter from Kenyans;

Jenga Nelson This is very stupid and not funny Waititu should not be released..being elected by 800K votes and now he is stealing from Kiambu people…He should be sent to the real jail in Kamiti next round of judgment.
Geoffrey Mashah And do you are happy visiting a governor in jail…did you tell him shame on him for stealing public money…#mwizinimwizi#

This is how Kiambu Deputy Governor Dr Nyoro is feeling like after DPP ordered for the arrest of notorious Ferdinand Waititu! Justice Mumbi Ngugi ruled that governors charged with graft should step aside and hand over to their deputies. Let's make Kiambu great Again! Wonderful! pic.twitter.com/sodf9IRIuq
