The Paternal family of the late Okoth maintained that the fallen MP deserved to be laid to rest next to the father’s grave at Amoso village in Kochia ward, Homa Bay County. Addressing the media on Wednesday, they expressed interest to be involved in any burial plans for the late legislator by the organizing committee in Nairobi.
“Traditionally, as the Luos do it, if Okoth is brought here, then the mother is also brought here, to be close to her son’s grave. So we are not only ready to welcome Ken, we’re ready to welcome the whole family because the husband who had quarrelled with the mother of Ken is no longer there. We have no quarrel with anybody, we welcome all of them and we’ll appreciate them to be here together with us.”
The family should allow Okoth to rest peacefully, maybe it was his wish to be cremated.
Let them STOP their stupidity!!!let #KenOkoth rest next to his mum who didn’t abandon him.if it’s those cows they took as bride price we can pay them back, plus interest, for all those cows they took!wawache ujinga, why ddnt they take care of him when the dad separated with the mum

Where was the culture when Ken was sleeping on the floor in Kibera, when he had no money for school fees …!?

Kenyans kept questioning why the family didn’t invoke the Luo culture of communal life when Ken needed them the most.
Whether culture comes to play, the family should respect the wishes of the deceased at all costs.
